Mizuno Pro 240 Series

A NEW AGE OF FORGING

The foundation of the Mizuno Pro 241/243/245 irons is a unique, long-standing connection between Mizuno's club engineers and its Grain Flow Forging plant in Hiroshima, Japan. A relationship which enables increasingly sophisticated designs to be crafted flawlessly into finished equipment. Where every fraction of a millimetre and subtle curve matters.

A set of 6 clubs (5-Pw). The Mizuno Pro 241 is a pure shot-makers muscle-back with mass accumulated centrally behind impact. A result of the pursuit of fine design details made possible through the long-term relationship between Mizuno's R&D team and its exclusive Grain Flow Forging plant in Hiroshima, Japan.

"With a muscle-back, the gains are in the details. The key to a visually appealing top-line might be a fraction of a millimetre, which can be lost or created in manufacturing. Working hand in hand with our forging plant for so many years allowed us to be incredibly precise in the engineering and craftsman's stages of the Mizuno Pro 241." - DAVID LLEWELLYN – Director of R&D

FORGED IN HIROSHIMA JAPAN One-piece Grain Flow Forged HD from 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel at Mizuno's iconic facility in Hiroshima, Japan – where Mizuno irons have been produced since 1968.

SOFT COPPER UNDERLAY A microlayer of copper beneath Nickel Chrome – for the purest, softest feel made famous in the legendary TN87. Reintroduced in 2019.

CENTRE MASS FOR ENHANCED FEEDBACK  Delivers a softer, longer sensation at impact -matching vibration patterns identified by Mizuno's Harmonic Impact Technology and confirmed through extensive tour testing.

AGGRESSIVLY TAPERED BLADE  A more obvious tapering of the upper blade potion delivers an ideal trajectory through the set – with flighted long irons and penetrating short irons.

The deep dive into Mizuno Pro 241

Fans of Mizuno’s muscleback blades gush about the feel, the look of the clubs in the address position and the control they give elite players. These golfers are not looking for more distance or forgiveness, but instead, they covet being able to envision a shot and then reproduce its curvature and flight.  Everything low-handicap golfers need to know about the new Mizuno Pro 241 is this: It’s the smallest, most compact muscleback blade Mizuno has ever created. There are some subtle technologies that are hard to detect, but the Mizuno Pro 241 is a club that has been stripped of extra bells and whistles that professionals, college players and golfers who annually contend in local and regional tournaments don’t ask for.

Each head is grain flow forged using 1025E mild carbon steel to elongate the metal and amplify the feel of impact. Compared to the Mizuno Prio 221, the 241 has a slightly thinner topline, and each club’s blade length from the 6-iron through the pitching wedge has been shortened. Removing that metal and reducing the size created discretionary weight that designers shifted to the area directly behind the ideal hitting area, which, again, amplifies feel. Mizuno designers were able to elevate the center of gravity location in the 241 irons, which increases spin rates. In game-improvement irons, manufacturers look to reduce spin rates to boost distance, but increasing the spin rate allows players to shape shots more effectively, which is what advanced players like.

The Mizuno Pro 241 irons have traditional, better-player lofts, with the 5-iron at 27 degrees, the 9-iron at 42 degrees and the pitching wedge at 46 degrees.
